Associates in Interdisciplinary Studies

Coji Maddona, a dedicated professional in the field of Vocational Rehabilitation, graduated with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2016. Currently, he serves as a DoDD Coordinator and Vocational Specialist at Matrix Vocational Solutions, where he has made significant strides in his career.

During his time at Gannon University, Coji was actively involved in the Literacy Outreach Program at the MLK Center. His commitment to service and education was further bolstered by the scholarship he received, which enabled him to fully engage in his academic and extracurricular pursuits. One of his favorite memories from Gannon University is taking enriching Theology courses taught by Dr. James Menkhaus, which left a lasting impact on him.

After graduating, Coji entered the field of Vocational Rehabilitation in 2017 in Erie, PA. Through hard work and dedication, he has risen to the role of Coordinating Department of Disability Services statewide in Ohio. His work involves helping individuals with disabilities reenter the workforce and improve their lives. Coji is proud to hold a Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) credential and volunteers with Junior Achievement of Eastern Ohio. He takes pride in providing quality services in a timely manner, reflecting his commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Outside of his professional life, Coji enjoys researching labor market statistics, engaging in home renovation projects, and indulging his passion for old Cadillacs. These interests reflect his diverse talents and curiosity.

Looking ahead, Coji envisions continuing to work in his field over the next five years. For him, vocational rehabilitation is not just a paycheck; it’s a passion to help those with disabilities better their lives. His dedication to his work and the people he serves is evident in everything he does.

Reflecting on his educational journey, Coji credits his higher education experience with enriching his life in numerous ways. It taught him to recognize other perspectives on worldly issues and formally trained him to handle many of the unique situations he encounters in his job. The skills and knowledge he gained at Gannon University have been instrumental in his professional growth and success.

Referred by the Alumni Association, Coji Maddona’s story is a testament to the transformative power of education and the impact of dedication and passion in one's career. His journey inspires others to pursue their goals with the same level of commitment and heart.
